Mzati Initiative is a community-focused organisation built on a simple belief: when people have the support and space to shape their own future, meaningful change becomes possible.
We aim to bring people together, listen to local priorities and support practical initiatives that nurture young people, strengthen community wellbeing and encourage sustainable progress.
Our work is guided by respect, collaboration and the belief that every person has something valuable to contribute.
OUR FOUNDER
Meet Mr Mclean Mtokota is the Executive Director for Mzati Initiatives working for the betterment of the community.He founded and registered the orgnization in 2024.
Strategic Objectives
Food and Nutrition Security
To improve food and nutrition security for smallholder farming households through the adoption of sustainable, climate-smart agriculture practices and the establishment of community-managed seed and food banks, supported by digital information systems.
Digital Technology
To increase household income and assets for community members—with a focus on women and youth—by establishing digitally-enabled VSLAs linked to a revolving fund that finances community-owned entrepreneurial ventures.
Environmental Resilience
To enhance environmental resilience by supporting community-led restoration of degraded land, afforestation, and sustainable natural resource management, thereby mitigating the effects of climate change and disaster risks, enhanced by digital monitoring and early warning systems.
Youth skills
To equip young people with market-relevant skills and entrepreneurial competencies that enable them to secure employment or establish sustainable enterprises, thereby reducing youth unemployment and underemployment.
Inclusive Development
To ensure holistic and inclusive development by mainstreaming gender equality, disability inclusion, and sexual and reproductive health across all activities, and by promoting inclusive leadership and participation within community structures.
Digital Financial Inclusive
To pioneer digital financial inclusion for rural, economically underserved populations by deploying mobile money, agent networks, offline-first applications, and SMS platforms that make financial services accessible to those with basic phones and no internet
